HerdX, Inc. is pleased to announce that Harlan Caviness has joined us as Director of Sales.
Harlan has some 25 years’ experience in the cattle industry. He began his career managing a stocker and custom preconditioning operation for multiple years, allowing him to gain a real-world perspective for his trade.
Afterwards, Harlan transitioned his career to the Ag pharmaceutical industry with a focus on high-risk stocker cattle. His experience covers all phases of the cattle industry including cow calf, stocker, feedlot as well as the dairy business. Harlan brings a great deal of expertise, ability, professional experience as well as significant cattle industry experience to HerdX.
Harlan spent some 20 years at Merck and Merck-owned companies, a global Pharmaceutical giant also focused on the livestock industry. Over his lengthy career at Merck, he had a highly successful career path where he held the position of Territory Manager leading up to the position of Strategic Account before retiring from Merck.
After retiring from Merck, Harlan spent four years with Huvepharma, a global pharmaceutical company focused on animal health and nutrition production. At Huvepharma, Harlan held the position of Strategic Account Manager.

Harlan is a lifelong resident of Arkansas where he lives with his wife and son.
